My name is Jesse Smith, and I'm running for
Mayor of North Kansas City.
I've served as a member of the City Council for the past 5.5 years, representing Ward 2. I love this little city, and I think we can do so much more to bring the community together.
I will bring open, transparent, and timely communication to the Mayor's office. During my time in office, I have shared hundreds of posts, email, and videos to keep people updated and to request feedback on upcoming decisions. I also have hosted live discussions about issues facing the City, including a forum on reducing gun violence.
The next few years will be pivotal for the identity of North Kansas City. I will focus on intentional, incremental progress, as vacant areas of the city begin to be filled in. Residents, business owners, and Governing Body members will all have a say as we continue to move forward.
As this local campaign season begins, I encourage you all to engage in the process. Ask tough questions, listen with open minds, and make your voices heard at the voting booth. I look forward to gaining your trust and earning your votes!
